Philip C. Mefoh, PhD, FNPA

Dr. Philip Chukwuemeka Mefoh is a distinguished Professor of Experimental Psychology at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), with over twenty-two years of experience in academia. Throughout his career, he has mentored numerous graduate and undergraduate students, contributing significantly to the growth and development of future psychologists.
Dr. Mefoh currently serves as a Mentor in the Global Psychology Alliance (GPA)/Learning Leadership Institute (LLI) of the American Psychological Association (APA). Through this platform, he plays a crucial role in nurturing emerging leaders in psychological science worldwide, including his mentee, a young psychologist from Nepal. His dedication to leadership and service is further demonstrated by his tenure as Vice President of the Nigerian Psychological Association (NPA) from 2011 to 2017
.As an accomplished researcher, Dr. Mefoh has published extensively in some of the most prestigious psychology journals, including Psychological Science, Thinking Skills and Creativity, Journal of Environmental Psychology, Journal of Experimental Social Psychology, and the British Journal of Psychology, among others. His research interests span cognitive processes, cross-cultural cognitive psychology, and the development of psychological science in Nigeria
.Dr. Mefoh is also the author of the seminal book, A Handbook of Psychology in Nigeria: 1964 – 2014, which documents and preserves the key events and processes that have shaped the evolution of scientific psychology in Nigeria over its first fifty years.
